To give organizations more flexibility when reserving vacation allowance, we’ve expanded this functionality and made it available for hourly workers. At the same time, we’ve added new configuration options. The same applies to the Bonus / Gratuity reservation, but this blog focuses specifically on the vacation allowance reservation.

With this expansion, organizations can fine-tune the calculation and reservation of vacation allowance to match the agreed employment terms.

From now on, you can set in Celery yourself which wage serves as the basis for the vacation allowance reservation. In this blog, we’ll walk you through the three different options.

1: Vacation Allowance Accrual based on ‘only fixed salary’

With this option, the vacation allowance accrual is calculated exclusively on the employee’s fixed salary. Variable pay components, such as additional hours worked or other payroll allowances, are excluded from the calculation. Wage code 10 represents the gross salary based on the hours worked and paid. Wage code 20 represents any salary increase applied retroactively.

2: Vacation Allowance Accrual based on ‘fixed employee data’

With this option, the vacation allowance accrual is calculated using the employee’s fixed employment data, such as the standard hours per day and working days per week recorded in the employee’s profile. This option is particularly useful when the accrual should be based on an agreed fixed salary rather than on the employee’s actual earnings.

3: Vacation Allowance Accrual based on ‘specific wage codes’

This option allows you to decide which wage components should be included as the basis for the accrual vacation allowance. By selecting one or more wage codes, you have full control over the earnings on which the vacation allowance is calculated.

More Control and Flexibility

With this enhancement, you gain greater control over how vacation allowance is accrued and reserved. Whether you employ monthly salaried employees, hourly employees, or a combination of both, the new configuration options enable you to tailor the calculation to the specific needs of your organization. Once again, the above adjustments also apply to the reservation Bonus / Gratification.
