Change of Aruba minimum wage per August 1th

The government of Aruba announced a change of the minimum wage on their official website. Read our blog post to learn more about the changes.

For the minimum wage, Aruban legislation has two categories.

The first category ‘Industry, Construction and Industry’ can be classified into:

  1. 40 hours work week;
  2. 42 hours work week;
  3. 44 hours work week;
  4. 45 hours work week.

The minimum wages will be as of 1 August 2017:

  • monthly:     Awg. 1,711,15;
  • weekly:      Awg. 399.10.

It is converted per hour:

Weekly 40 42 44 45
Hourly wage Awg. 9.98 Awg. 9.50 Awg. 9.07 Awg. 8.87

For the second category, being household services, the minimum wage is Awg. 798.30 if the employee lives with the employer and works for more than 22 hours a week, and otherwise the minimum hourly wage is Awg. 8.90 per hour.
