The Latest Features Explained

At Celery, everything revolves around innovation and service. As your trusted software partner, we listen to your needs and continuously work on improvements that make your work easier and more efficient. Thanks to your valuable feedback, we have developed several new features that perfectly align with your requirements. In this article, we provide a clear overview of all improvements and new features, keeping you up to date and fully prepared for your daily operations. Together, we ensure that you can always rely on a smooth and efficient payroll process and HR administration.

New features for employers

New report: Cost centers overview (X44)
This report provides insight into the cost centers linked to employees. Cost centers go beyond departments – while an employee can only be assigned to one department, they can be linked to multiple cost centers in the background. Cost centers are typically used when multiple projects are ongoing, or when a single entity operates multiple points of sale, branches or subsidiaries. They can also be helpful when employees work across multiple departments. Cost centers do not appear on payslips; rather, they serve as a division for reporting purposes and financial administration, such as the salary journal or our Wage Cost Report X22.

New report: Gross to Net (X6)
A new Excel report containing all wage codes applied in a closed pay run, from gross to net, along with all intermediate wage codes. This report can be found under the ‘export’ button in report X6 Specification by wage code.

New report: Pension contribution report (X42)
This report provides a complete overview of pension premium contributions per pay run, with one line per employee containing personal information, wage codes included in the pension premium base, and the pension premium amounts. In addition to pension premium amounts per employee, it also includes employer contributions, total premium and applicable premium percentages. Most pension insurance providers nowadays require periodic reports from their clients that detail participants and pension premium amounts, making this report particularly useful.

Enhancement: Grossing-up net wages for hourly workers
Celery’s net-to-gross calculation for employees with net salary agreements and hourly wages has been expanded. Previously, a gross-up tool could only be used to convert a fixed periodic net wage to gross, with the calculated gross wage recorded for the employee. In 2024, it is now possible to set a fixed net salary for an employee, whether on a monthly or hourly basis. Additionally, this gross-up feature applies not only to salary in the local currency but also in foreign currencies.

New feature: Bulk editing of fixed wage codes
Easily import changes to fixed wage codes, such as gross wages and other wage codes linked to fixed employee data. This is much faster than manual updates, which can be error prone. A video explains how it works:

New feature: Personalized message at the bottom of payslips now importable via periodic changes sheet
Until now, it was only possible to place one general message from management or HR at the bottom of all payslips. Now, this message can vary per employee. These personalized messages can be manually entered for each employee during an open run or imported via a periodic changes sheet. The messages can be linked and imported in your periodic changes import sheet using wage code 1010.

Improvement: Cost center allocation based on worked hours per cost center
Previously, cost centers in Celery could only be set based on ‘fixed’ percentages per employee. In 2024, an additional allocation method based on worked hours per cost center has been introduced. You enter the hours worked per cost center during an open run, and Celery automatically calculates the percentage per cost center for allocation and reporting purposes.

New feature: Explanations for wage codes on payslips now importable via periodic changes sheet
It is now possible to import explanations for specific wage codes in an open run. Previously, explanations for payroll codes on payslips had to be manually entered. Now, such notes can also be imported along with the other periodic changes.

New HRM features

New HRM report: Detailed sick leave (X40)
This report is available in addition to the existing X29 Overview Sick Leave report. In this detailed report, each employee has a dedicated page showing all months and days in which sick days are marked in orange. This allows for easy identification of sick leave trends per employee.

The report includes useful overviews such as:

A clear A4-sized calendar displaying 365 days with sick leave days highlighted.

Which days of the week the employee reported absent.

Which months the employee reported absent.

Total sick leave hours per month.

Total sick leave hours per year.

Absence percentage per month.

Absence percentage per year.

Integration with Dyflexis
Celery can now be integrated with Dyflexis, a planning and time registration system that helps employers manage time tracking, work schedules, employee hours, and administrative processes. With this integration, employees are synchronized in both applications, eliminating the need for duplicate entries. Additionally, worked hours, overtime, and time-off days in Dyflexis can be processed quickly and efficiently in an open run in Celery.

Integration with PerformanceManagement Online
Celery can also be integrated with Personnel Evaluation Online. This software simplifies and digitizes performance and evaluation reviews. The integration ensures seamless data exchange between Celery and PM Online, synchronizing employees in both applications, reducing administrative workload.

New HRM dashboard widgets
Useful widgets with key HR information have been added to the Celery Dashboard. Users can customize these widgets to expand or simplify them based on their needs. The dashboard now provides:

Who is out-of-office this week due to vacation or sickness.

Employee count per age group and gender.

Sick leave trends displayed in graphs.

Are you curious about our HRM tool’s capabilities? Learn more or try it free for 30 days by opening a test account.

New features for employees

Smartphone app
With the Celery mobile app, employees can easily access their payslips and annual overviews.
